I am from Abbeville and now reside in Maurice. I am married to Heath and have one child, Evan. I enjoy outdoor activities and family/friend gatherings. I also love dancing, from which I am recently retired, after 13 years of teaching.
I received my master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Louisiana Lafayette. My clinical experience includes private clinics and schools. I am experienced in treating a wide range of childhood disorders, including autism, language-based learning difficulties, literacy, feeding, and articulation.
I am trained in the SOS Feeding Approach, SOFFI Method, PROMPT technique, Beckman Oral Motor Protocol, LAMP, and Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS). In addition, I have completed the DIR/Floortime Introductory Course and the DIR 201 Courses from the ICDL and have the designation of Basic Floortime Provider. I recently completed a mentorship program in Feeding at the Star Center in Denver, Colorado, under the tutorship of Dr. Kay Toomey, developer of the SOS Approach to Feeding.
I believe that therapeutic activities must be embedded in meaningful interactions or experiences in order to be effective. I look forward to working with the Gueydan community and the Vermilion Parish school district.
