The high seas have never looked more beautiful.....or been so smart! We’re sailing through our adventure to earn as many books as possible for our students, and we’re having fun along the way. Today, we announced the winner of the iPad! Congratulations, Analeah Guidry!
Arrrgh, matey! Our Book Blast has taken us on an incredible adventure, and we yesterday we had our 4th and final Treasure Chest stuffed with cash winner. Congratulations, Austin Breaux! Since it was a virtual day he received his treasure chest today.

Land ho! Our 3rd Book Blast Treasure Chest stuffed with cash winner has found the loot today. Congratulations, Bentley Guidry ! We have more prizes to be awarded with our Book Blast event! The student with the highest dollar amount of contributions from each grade level will be awarded a $100 Book Blast shopping spree. The student with the highest dollar amount of contributions in the school will be awarded an additional $100 Book Blast shopping spree. The shopping spree awards are a fun way to add more books to your student’s home library!

Yesterday, our 5th grade students took a short trip to GHS to take a tour of the school and meet some of the teachers!

This Week at JOES - April 17th through April 21st
Here is the composite elementary and middle school leap testing schedule for 2023
5th and 6th grade band members from Jesse Owens and Gueydan High joined other students from Herod, FIEB, JH Williams, and Seventh Ward at host school Indian Bayou for the 2023 Band Day! They spent the morning practicing together before putting on a concert for parents. There were over 200 band students today, and they ALL did a great job!

Mrs Rebecca's 2nd Grade enjoyed a reward of pizza and juice for making 100% in Zearn (minus 1 week because of sickness) the entire 3rd 9 weeks!
