Today 5th grade did an experiment to see how many drops of water would fit on a penny before draining off, then how many drops of oil, and they compared their findings. Students saw how oil and water don't mix and learned many new facts about modeling mixtures!

AJ and Hadleigh represented JOES at Vermilion Parish Special Olympics today in Kaplan!
JOES News - November 3rd through November 7th
Today our 5th grade students did testing to see if citric acid, cumin, and pepper would dissolve in water when mixed for 3 minutes. Only the citric acid dissolved and the experiment was a success.
Wednesday was Crazy Hair Day for Red Ribbon Week!
Mrs. Kelli Pugh & Mrs. Verna Broussard are attending the Louisiana Autism Conference in Lake Charles today.
JOES got Red Ribbon Week off to a great start with "We All Fit Together." Students wore class colors to show how their differences come together to complete the puzzle that is our amazing school. They also had some very special guests throughout the day!

JOES 4-H officers attended the Officer Training Meeting at Rene Rost on Thursday, October 23, 2025. Officers learned about their individual offices and watched a mock meeting.

Elise Georgia participated in the 4-H Dog and Pet Show on Monday, October 12, 2025. She earned Gold ribbons in Obedience Training and Look-a-Like Contest! She also participated in the Rice and Beef Cookery contest. She placed 5th with her rice main dish and earned a Silver ribbon with her beef dish! Congratulations Elise! Congratulations Elise!
